Our flagship program, the African American Business Achievement Pinnacle Awards spotlights and honors African-American businesses that have achieved success by combining vision, determination, commitment, perseverance and dedication to building strong communities.
This black-tie gala is Houston’s premier event honoring African-American entrepreneurialism. The event is attended by corporate sponsors, partners, community and political leaders, and the press totaling approximately 800 guests.
New this year will be awards presented "Academy Award"-style to a winner in each of the following categories: 1) Medical, 2) Construction, 3) Food Service, 4) Professional Services, 5) Communications, 6) Information Technology, 7) Financial Services, and 8) Legal
The Mack H. Hannah, Jr. Upstart Business Award also is presented during the Pinnacle Awards.
The mission of the Upstart Award is to enhance the quality of life in the African-American business community and spotlight the entrepreneurial spirit upon which our country was built.
The Mack H. Hannah, Jr. Upstart Business Award recognizes a burgeoning business on the path to entrepreneurial greatness. This award provides the winning African-American business with the capital and resources so often difficult to obtain as a start-up venture. Sponsorship of the Mack H. Hannah, Jr. Upstart Business Award also puts your company in the forefront of championing African-American business development by undergirding an annual business development-training course for new businesses that qualify.
The Advocate Award is the final award presented during the Pinnacle Awards.
The mission of the Advocate Award is to acknowledge a company that has been a true champion for African-American small businesses in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area.
The Advocate Award recipient shares the HCCC’s vision to enhance the quality of life in the African-American business community and is committed to empowering, doing business with and/or providing business opportunities to African-American businesses.
